The chapter opens with a review of the previous chapters to the effect that if empirical model of verification is applied in analyzing religious language, it would be discovered that religious utterances ‘exhibit quite a different and distinctive logical behavior’. Therefore, religious language, he argues, must be understood within the framework of commitment.
