As we identify and name sponsors of the reported attempted coup, can we also name identified sponsors of Boko Haram insurgency, after all Commodore Kunle Olawunmi( rtd), formerly of Directorate of Miilitary Intelligence, came on a live television programme and declared, albeit without equivocation, that an investigation into the Boko Haram insurgency, ordered by the Head of Military intelligence, in which he was a participant submitted a comprehensive list of names of sponsors of the deadly terrorist gang to the then military president, General Mohammadu Buhari.He said the list contain names of operators of Bureau de Change,security officers in the Nigerian Armed forces, Aides to the president, working with government officials in Aso-Rock.He went further. According to him, many of them are still in Aso-Rock, whilst many have become state governors.
In any case, what the former intelligence officer came to articulate on Channels TV was also revealed by a former Chief of Army Staff, and former Minister of Defence, General Theophelus Yakubu Danjuma, who declared, with magisterial authority, that the military forces were in collusion with bandits, as they provide them with operational logistics- guiding them through terrains and giving them covers.
So, as we go after those trying to truncate our civilian rule, being bandied as democracy, let us summon the political will to publicly name those that has aided, and still aiding the gradual destruction of the country through insecurity
